Rules for the 2010 race season at J-Tec racing and fun in Tilton, IL

  8th scale Late Model's will be using the DLMRA rules this season they can be found at

  The only alterations to the rules are:

 1. Ofna tire p/n 80652,80653,and 86509.
 2. At no time will side dams be allowed.
 3. One ways , smart-diffs and torsion diffs will be allowed.

  These will be used for general measurement on all cars, bodys, wings, and spoilers.
 

  Electric Sprint Cars
Must have scale appearance cage, hood, side panels, nerf bars and bumpers. Minimum of a 4 post cage required that resembles a drivers cockpit. A driver arm guard area is permitted on right side panel bust must be of reasonable size. All electronics, radio gear, fuel tanks must be positioned inside the cage side frames. Three dimensional scale appearing exhaust headers must appear on both sides of car in “engine area” and be made of round stock or molded polycarbonate (left side of nitro sprint is optional). Rear cage side panels may be used but may not extend beyond rear cage frame. No lexan or any other material may be mounted to nerf bars, bumpers, cage, wing or any other part of the car that will trap, alter, or direct air flow for the purpose of gaining an aerodynamic advantage. Must have appropriate openings on both sides of cage in driver compartment, forward portion of side panels can be no taller than highest point of hood, no solid side panels.

    * Maximum Length: 18.000"
    * Maximum width of hood: 3.600"
    * Maximum cage width at driver halo, down tubes, and top frame rail: 3.600"
    * Minimum vertical gap from top of hood to front cage crossbar: .750"
    * Wing minimum height at leading edge: 5.000" from bottom of chassis

Wings: Center section and side panels must be made from at least 3 separate pieces of polycarbonate, carbon or aluminum material. All corners and edges must be rounded and free of sharp edges. Main and Front wings must be mounted so that they are centered on cage, no offset wings. Wing center sections must have all 4 corners set at 90 degree angles, no canted or angled panels. Wings must also be mounted level from side to side. Center section of wing may not extend beyond leading or trailing edge of side panels. Side panels must have braces that hold side panel rigid at 90deg. to center section during race conditions. Two braces are required from top of the center foil to the left sideboard and one brace is permitted below the center foil to the right side board. Braces can be a maximum of .750" wide and front edge of front brace must be no more than 1.5” back from side panel leading edge. Side Panels may have front, back, top and bottom turnouts of no more than .375" and are included in max dimension. Flat foil center sections will be allowed a .250” turndown at the leading edge.

The 7x7" wing rule for races and series using buggy or rubber tires will be utilized.
Nose wing : These are optional max size is 4.5" x 3"
Race organizers may also choose to run wingless sprint events.

2.2 inch buggy mini pin rear tires and ribbed fronts. (Wide or Narrow)
Batteries: Limited to maximum 2S Lipo 5000mah.  (Any 6 cell Sub C NiMh can be used.)

   Short Course Truck

Body: All trucks must use the factory Traxxas Slash body. May also use a Proline body made for the Slash.
     1/8 scale LM bodys will be intergated in during the season.

May use any transmitter and reciever.

Battery: This class is limited to any 1 - 7 cell 8.4v nimh or nicd, or 1 - 2S 7.4 Volt Lipo battery pack. If using a Lipo Battery,
 a Low Voltage Cutoff Switch MUST be used, since the Traxxas XL-5 speed control does not have a built in Low Volt Cutoff.
ESC: Open Esc with 17.5 brushless motor.


  VTA Late Model
VTA Late Model class will use Vta rules which consist of 200mm chassis 4wd touring car.
Motor:17.5 brushless Roar approved
Battery: 7.4v 2cell Lipo or 7.2 4600 nimh/nicd
Esc: open any esc
Tire & Wheel Specifications:
 The only tires allowed are HPI tire part #4793 front and #4797 rear,
 using stock tire inserts provided with tire and any HPI Vintage wheels designed to fit these tires.
 Five or Eight spoke wheels available in various colors. 0mm offset front wheels and 6mm offset rear wheels
 are intended for 26mm width fronts and 31mm width rear tires. 8-spoke Vintage wheels from #3805 through #3814,
 5-spoke Vintage wheels from #3815 through #3822 and Vintage stock car wheels from #3854 through #3860 are all
 legal wheels.
Body: 200mm late model body with Dodc rear spoiler


 1/10 2wd latemodel

 All entries must be 2wd and rear wheel drive only.
 For turn marshal safety all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock
 absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex etc. Front bumpers must be mounted
 in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a
front impact. All cars must have 4-wheel independent suspension. No straight axle cars allowed,
 single speed transmissions only.  All corners of bodies and wings must be rounded for safety.

    * Wheelbase: 9.500” min, 11.500" max
    * Maximum width: 10.250" (rubber tires)

Tires: are Custom Works Street Trac Tires and Custom Works Wheels.
Body:  Any Dodc approved body.  Front and Rear Wheel Wells must be cut out.
  No Side Dams
Rear Spoiler Maximum Cord is 2.750 Inches from Body Deck including any Wicker Bills
Transmision: 2WD Transmision
Motor: Any 13.5 motor Prefered motor choice is Novak 13.5ss P/n 3413-2.
Batteries: Limited to maximum 2S Lipo 5000mah.  (Any 6 cell Sub C NiMh can be used.)
