This is going to be a fun time for everyone and we want to remember a great friend and fellow RC'er.  Rick loved these little cars and since he was unable to run the big ones anymore he grew to love the little ones.

The first time that Rick rolled into the Hobby Shop was to tell us there was a kid standing outside in shorts and no jacket (winter time).  He came to find out that it was a steel sign that we made.  The signs are so realistic that everyone thinks they are real the first time they see them.  Anyway he was coming to tell us to not let the kid stand outside or he was going to call the police.

At first when Rick and I met neither one of us liked each other.  We both thought that each other were assholes.  We continued to talk and figured out that we were two peas in a pod.  Turned out to be pretty great friends.  Rick always helped out here at the shop and was always happy.

Rick started out with his grandson racing but wanted to race himself.  When we built the oval track we put a special handicap ramp for him and his wheel chair.  He didn't care to much for the off road but loved the oval.  When we went indoors for the winter he was a little upset because he wanted to continue to run.  I told him that Joe and I would carry him on the drivers stand and he was going to run indoors.  Every week Rick made it to the Loft and was running on the track and every week he would get out of the wheel chair and we would help him to his spot and he would run..

I miss his jokes and poking fun at Joe and I and most of all I miss his company here at the shop.  We will do this race every year in Honor of him.  Thanks and hope to see everyone that weekend.

Saturday the 21st of March will be open practice and possibly one qualifier then Sunday the 22nd of March will be race day we will have 2 qualifiers and the mains.  Practice will be Sunday morning at 7am and race time will be at 9:30am sharp.

Is that the 21st  and 22nd of Feb or March?  If team Wombat only makes it to one indoor race this season that will be the one.
